Overview
Bitbox is a software developer for IKEA Sarton. They create specific products for this IKEA franchise, later selling them and adapting solutions for other IKEA franchises or retailers.
For that last purpose, they needed to update their website, giving it a more modern look and showcasing their best digital products.
My role
After the first sketches for the home page had been made and the style foundations (typography, colors) were established, I entered the project to create, alongside my colleague Elisa, the rest of the pages and adapt them to mobile devices.
With periodical meetings with the PM, and the lead programmer, we kept advancing and adapting the design to the business and technical needs.
Once the design was approved, we kept woking closely with the development team to ensure that the design was implemented correctly.

Challenges
1 - Updating the business image, making it more modern and dynamic, while keeping its essence.
2 - Condensing all the information that needed to be given about the companie's story, showing it in a light, clear and clean way.
3 - Adapting dense-content elements to mobile screens, while keeping the screen uncluttered.
Solutions
1 - Combining dark-mode styled elements with a light-mode style.
2 - Creating a timeline module with the information divided in smaller blocks
3 - Designing compact versions of the different modules with drop-down to show additional information
